Werner Biermeier

was born 1961 in Winterthur Switzerland. After the schools in Altdorf he graduated 1981 and started studying economics at the Universitiy of Zurich till 1984 and was trained as a pastry chef at Sprüngli Confiserie in Zurich. He worked in the family enterprise till summer 1998. After an unfriendly takover of his company he changed career and moved to New York City, where he studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute 1998 – 2000.  Singing Lessons at the Singers Forum NYC and with Ilka Lo Monaco. In between stage debut 1999 in Lucerne with ‚Hinter den Sieben Bergen‘ by F.X. Nager and Christoph Baumann. More stage work and his first film 2000 in NYC: Nancy & Frank by Wolf Gremm with Robert Wagner, Gottfried John, Hardy Krüger jr. and many more.

He moved to Berlin autumn 2001 and worked as a freelance actor in Munich, Berlin, Florence, London and Switzerland on stage, in film and tv-productions.

His first work at the ‚See-Burgtheater‘ was in 2009, where he played the role of ‚Giesecke‘ in ‚Im Weissen Rössl‘, directed by Jean Grädel. Then he worked with the director Leopold Huber 2010 in ‚Die Schwarze Spinne‘ by Jeremias Gotthelf, 2011 in Johann Nestroys ‚Der Zerrissene‘, 2012 in ‚The Black Rider‘ by William S. Burroughs, Tom Waits and Robert Wilson and 2013 in ‚Die Dreigroschenoper‘ by Berthold Brecht and Kurt Weill.

In the summer season 2014 he worked with the director Giuseppe Spina in ‚Laina Viva‘ in Zernez.

Winter 2014/15 he played Ephraim Langstrumpf at the ‚Luzerner Theater‘ directed by Benno Muheim.

Back to See-Burgtheater in summer 2015 as ‘Manz’ in ‚Romeo und Julia auf dem Dorfe‘ by Gottfried Keller and directed by Astrid Keller.

Several parts in free lance productions and in film and tv. 2005 in the cinemas with ‚Mein Name ist Eugen‘ by Michael Steiner, 2006 in ‚Handyman‘ by Jürg Ebe. He worked with director David Fincher as swiss banker ‚Hasselman‘ in ‚The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘, in cinemas worldwide 2011/12. 2013 he played the part oft he kidnapped billionaire Karl-Heinz Volkner in Johannes Hartmanns ‚Deadlocked‘. In ‚Spooky & Linda‘ by Christian Wehrlin he co-stared 2014 with Carla Juri and Marcus Signer. Recently he workd with Peter Greenaway in ‚Walking To Paris‘.

Several parts in tv series and movies. 2014 he had a guest role as Alfons Zehnder in ‚Der Bestatter‘ directed by Chris Niemayer. August 2014 he was the main character Werner Georg Thaler in the swiss tv srf summer special ‚ANNO 1914‘.
